SIMPLE PAST TENSE
PAST SIMPLE IS USED TO TALK ABOUT ACTIONS THAT ALREADY FINISHED.
EXAMPLE : He played soccer
There are two categories of past verbs:
The regular verbs: we just add -ED.
Examples:
CLEAN – CLEANED
PLAY- PLAYED
ASK- ASKED
DANCE- DANCED
FINISH – FINISHED
And the irregular verbs that we need to learn by heart
Examples
Be – Was/Were
Eat – Ate
Drink – Drank
Go – Went
Ride – Rode
